State of the Union
So, I suppose it's been to long to just jump right into things; I'll resume my committment to blogging by starting with a summary of where I am right now in life:
1. Despite my best efforts to stay driven and do well in school, I was unable to do as well as I had hoped. Mid-quarter it became apparent I would not pass one of my core classes, and so I decided to take the F and focus on passing my remaining two classes. Unfortunately, the course I need to retake is only offered in the Spring. Thus, I am tied to Davis for one more year.
2. This is ok, because the research on blowfly chemical ecology is getting closer to fruition. Since I visited my Quantitative Anaylsis of Env. Toxicants professor on a nearly religious basis, I now have the green light to use the department's teaching chromatographs for pretty much nine months. This means that when I complete the electroantennagram I'll be VERY busy ;-)
3. Currently, I hold three regular jobs- parking enforcement, painting and viticulture- and one highly infrequent one where I do odd jobs on a farm just outside Davis.
4. I am moving to Placerville at the end of the summer.
5. Still no girlfriend :-(
I think I'll flesh each of these out into a full post in the days to come.
