Hamming It Up...

After careful deliberation, I've decided that I need to get back into some of my older hobbies, even at the expense dropping some of my current pursuits. It just feels like I've grown a lot more tense in the last few years and I can see myself starting to change in the way I interact with everyone-- including my friends. Too much work and no outlet is a bad policy...

So, I dusted off my art supplies and whipped out this little guy this afternoon in the lab. It's the red legged ham beetle, a creature I am doing some half hearted colonization experiments with between blowfly projects. I've got some work cut out for me, as you can see by the misplaced highlights and rough tone transisitons, but considering I haven't picked up a colored pencil since city college, not too shabby...

Thank goodness you caught your highlights and tone transition transgressions. Anyone who is anyone (Not me!) could see the shoddy workmanship ;-)

I think it looks great! I have to agree with Jerid's post--I wouldn't have noticed it!

What is this RSS business you speak of? I'd love to not have to remember to manually look up yours, Jerid's, Amanda's and Brittany's blog everyday...does it let you know when comments have been posted too?
